LOCATION
- Posters are presented on the -1 floor (Espace Ella Maillart) in the conference center. Check the technical program for your assigned poster session (ICEC29-ICMC 2024 (22-26 July 2024): Timetable · Indico (cern.ch)).
POSTER BOARDS
- Poster boards are in landscape, size 1.64 m wide and 1.2 m high. A minimum size is ‘extended A0’, for example 1.5-1.6 m x 0.84 m, printed on paper or canvas, rolled up and transported in a protective tube.
PREPARATION OF YOUR POSTER and QUALITY
- Posters must be prepared electronically. A pdf copy on a USB stick has to be handed in at the Publication Office where it will be uploaded in indico. The poster is then available in the conference timetable for all conference attendees. This will drastically enhance the visibility and dissemination of your work, which is a very importance advantage and purpose of the conference.
- The pdf file submission must be done well before, preferable 1 day before your poster session starts. After you have submitted the pdf version, a poster board number will be assigned to it and given to you so you will know on which poster board it can be attached.
- Only posters submitted electronically are valid for presentation.
- The opening hours of the Publications Office: Monday 12:00 till 16:00, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 till 18:00, and on Thursday from 8:30 till 17:00.
- Good methods to produce a good poster is by using MS-PowerPoint, MS-WORD, CORAL DRAW, or similar software; and saving the file in compressed pdf format for easy submission. An example of a proper poster made with MS-PowerPoint is here: link.
- Limit use of text sparingly. Use pictures, cartoons, and figures rather than text wherever possible. Bright colors will greatly enhance the poster and draw the attention of the viewers.
- Make your poster as self-explanatory as possible, so that attendees can understand the essence of your work also in your absence outside the scheduled poster session time.
- Check that the poster is clearly readable when standing 2 meter before the poster board. The size of the characters in your text should be accordingly.
- Audio-visual equipment will not be allowed for poster presentations. You may, however, bring your notebook computer for demonstration purposes and run it off your battery.
