Dr. Klaus-Peter Weiss is the head of the Cryogenic Material Test Lab Karlsruhe (CryoMaK) at the Institute for Technical Physics and serves as the coordinator for the research topic "Cryogenic Structural Material" within the ITEP. As an experimental scientist, his work focuses on materials for cryogenic applications, including superconductors and structural materials. In the context of the German Fusion collaboration towards DEMO, he is the spokesperson for the working group on "Magnet Technology." Since 2006, Dr. Weiss has been involved in standardization work with the national DKE/DIN and the international IEC Technical Committee 90 "Superconductivity," serving as an expert in several working groups. Since 2019, he has been the convener of the German National Committee.
